2017 OKI BASS CLUB TOURNAMENT RULES

General Tournament Rules

1. Club officers or designees have the right to inspect live wells and/or boat compartments immediately prior to the start of a tournament.

2. During a club tournament all members must obey all state laws and lake rules. Breaking these rules shall be grounds for disqualification. If disqualified, neither entry fee nor big bass fee will be returned. No fishing is permitted within 50 yards of a gas pump.

3. Consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or use of illegal drugs during tournaments are prohibited. Participating in a club tournament under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will be grounds for disqualification and dismissal from the club.

4. The club officers have the right to cancel any tournament due to bad weather or high water. Entry fees for any canceled tournament will be refunded.

5. No more than two people are permitted in each boat. At least one person must be 18 years of age or older. When an adult chooses a minor for a partner, the adult assumes full responsibility for that minor.

6. If you choose to fish without a partner, you must pay the full entry fee. If you choose to fish by yourself, the five fish limit is also in affect.

7 Safe boating must be observed at all times. Each person is required to wear a coast guard approved personal flotation device and the driver must have a kill switch attached when the boat is under power by the combustion engine.

8. All competitors are expected to be courteous to all competitors and non-competitors alike.

9. No pre-fishing on the tournament waters is permitted the day of the tournament. The entire Markland Pool is the tournament water when Tanners Creek or Goose Creek is the tournament site.

10. For Tanners Creek tournaments, Tanners Creek from the first bridge going upstream to the first cooling pond and the  "tube" in Hogan’s Creek and the Gravel Pit @Great Miami & the first marina@Laughrey Creek are off limits.

11. No fishing is permitted after your partner leaves the boat to check in.

12. No live bait or trolling is allowed.

13. For each short fish presented to the weigh master, there will be a one (1) pound penalty deducted from the overall weight total. The short fish will not count toward weight totals.

14.Dead fish cannot be culled, weighed for big bass or included in you weight total 

15. All boats must have an aerated live well or aerated cooler.

16. Starting order for each tournament shall be determined by drawing a numbered chip at the time of registration. The team drawing the "Horn" chip or the highest numbered chip if the Horn chip is not drawn will go last and call the boat numbers to start the tournament.

17. Protests must be lodged with a club officer or designee prior to the completion of the weigh in for tournament in which the alleged infraction occurred.

18. Anyone cited for running an idle zone will automatically be disqualified for that tournament.

19. Club membership dues for adults are $60 for the 2016 season. Must join by June 1st to fish the Classic. Members 15 years old and under on January 1st of the tournament year are free with parent or guardian as a member. Dues for members16 or17 year olds on January 1st of the tournament year are $30.

20.  Eight hour tournament entry fees are $50 per boat with a $10 optional big bass pot. Prize money for each tournament shall be awarded as provided for in the 2017 payout schedules.

 21. Non-members may fish unlimited  tournaments with a member

22. Only club members will receive trophies or  plaques.

23. Any disputes not specifically addressed by these rules shall be decided by a majority vote of the club officers.

24. The bag limit will be 5 keeper bass per team whether the team is one or two fishermen. Minimum length is 12" at Tanners Creek tournaments and 14" at Brookville tournaments. Any team exceeding the bag limit at any time during the tournament will be disqualified from the tournament. If the team has in its possession five bass and catches a sixth, a bass must be released before the team resumes fishing.

25. All fish must be presented to the "Weigh-Master" at the same time.

26. If the water level of the Ohio River is above 32 feet, the tournament will be moved to Brookville Lake. To determine the level of the Ohio River, members should check the Cincinnati Enquirer the day of the tournament. Members are to use the downtown  Cincinnati water level measurement. The actual water level is what to look for, not projected levels.

27. Once fish are weighed in, they must be returned to the water at the tournament ramp site. Under no circumstances will fish be given to anyone for any other purpose.

28. "Stocking" is prohibited and is grounds for dismissal from the Club

29. Members who are continually disruptive to the overall operation of the Club will receive one official warning. If the problem persists, the disruptive member may be dismissed from the club by a majority vote of the officers.

30. Teams must put in at the same ramp for every tournament.

31. The check-in time for purposes of determining a late penalty or disqualification will be the time the team’s starting chip is returned to the bucket from which it was drawn.

32. The late penalty is one (1) pound per minute with disqualification of the team’s entire day’s catch after 15 minutes.

REGISTRATION AND TOURNAMENT STARTING PROCEDURE

1. No entries will be accepted after the tournament start time. All teams must be registered, including paying the tournament entrance fee and meet the scheduled takeoff.

2. One team member can register, go through boat check and start the tournament by himself and fish until his partner arrives.

3. At Brookville, pre tournament registrations will be taken at the Parkside Plaza until 30 minutes before the start of the tournament.

4. Any member uncertain as to the site of a tournament should call one of the officers for verification. Due to the large membership of the club, it is each member's responsibility to initiate this communication.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP "CLASSIC" RULES

1. You must be a club member  paid by Jun 1st   and participate in a least two (2) tournaments to qualify for the club championship (the Classic).

2. In the Classic, the first day sets the teams for the entire tournament. If a partner does not show for the second day of the Classic, the remaining partner fishes alone. No new teams will be permitted.

3. Start time, mandatory registration time and any rules specific to the Classic will be announced at least one week prior to the tournament.

4. The  Classic will pay ten  places or half the field whichever is less.
